Vaginal pain/inflammation but not thrush or BV- what can it be? Serious answers please…?
I recently experienced thrush-like symptoms which did not go away with treatment, so was referred to a GUM (sexual health) clinic.
Tests for urine infection, vaginal swabs for thrush etc all came back negative. Have been tested for all other STD’s but have not yet got results, although I think the risk is low due to having one long-term partner and using condoms.
Treatment for thrush and BV have not worked and my vagina is red and inflammed, with watery discharge. Can be itchy too and feels painful during sex/when clothes rub.
Started using Microgynon 30 pill at start of May so could this be a side-effect? Also, only started using tampons a few months ago and have had thrush and now this since then- is there a chance that I might be allergic to them or something else?
