over the counter yeast infection treatment good or bad?
i think i have a yeast infection because i have been itching and my discharge has an odor that almost smells like beer.. i am not totally sure but I was just wondering if it was bad to use an over the counter cream or medication if you werent totally sure it is a yeast infection. I have been taking an antibiotic for my acne for a while now and i think that may be what has caused it also i have been outside alot in the heat so that could also be a factor.
Yogurt as Yeast Infection Cure?

About a month or so ago I got a yeast infection out of nowhere (ive had them before due to antibiotics). I used monistat 3 which didnt work, so i went to the dr. and got diflucan. I’ve never had an issue with monistat not working, and the diflucan took a full week to actually clear me of all symptoms. So i think it was a pretty stubborn infection. Since then i have been tkaing probiotics to help keep things at bay. However abotu 2 weeks ago i had that sudden itching again, but it lasted only abotu 24 hours and i was fine. And then about 2 days ago it was back with a vengance! Def more mild than the previous infection, but still very uncomfortable. Since monistat didnt work for me before, i thought i should go the natural route. I have been using yogurt (that tampon trick) for about 24 hours now and things really feel better. Yesterday I used the tampon twice and instantly i felt SOOOO much relief. I didnt use it at night, and this morning I woke up and it was back to being pretty itchy. Not horrible, but again, very uncomfortable. So I guess my question is:
1. How often should you use the tampon each day, and how long does it take to work normally?
2. Does the yogurt actually work to cure it or is it only soothing my symptoms?
*I really dont want to go to the dr. and get another pill of diflucan as I dont want to further help this thing build a resistance. I’ve also heard of garlic…does anyone know where I can get good garlic pills at like a pharmacy or gnc? I dont wanna buy online and wait days you know? Thanks!
*to Hope: Is there a difference between clotrimazole and that stuff in monostat…micanozole or whatever its called? I’m nervous to make it worse if i take the wrong thing.
** Ref. the trich..thanks, i didnt even think of that. However, aside from being in a relationship for over a year, I have had my normal gyno appt in recent months, as well as when i first went to the dr for the yeast infection. they did a culture and everything came back negative. If things dont clear up soon tho, i will prob go back and look into that option.
thrush i cant seem to to get rid of?
i never had thrush ever until i done my 1st IVF cycle now i cant seem to get rid of it. I have used creams, once only treatments, pesseries. It goes away but i get it back within a couple of weeks. This time we are also treating my partner incase this is how im getting reinfected all the time. Anyone got any advice how to prevent from getting it and how to get rid of it.
no offence was taken but i always keep it clean down there. I have done everything the doctors have said too.
I have changed one thing since doing the IVF and thats wear underwear, i never used to wear it and never got it, i done IVF and had to wear them as i got period( never get them on my own) Then when i fell preg on 2nd cycle i had lots of trouble with bleeding, i was bleeding all the time up untill lost them at 14weeks so i was always wearing underwear, i have now been wearing it everyday but thinking i might have to stop again, but cant cause of discharge(gross i know) could this be part of the prob.

I THINK I HAVE A YEAST INFECTION, MY DOC SAID MY DISCHARGE LOOKED ”CHEESY”…….i find the ”tablets” she gave me to ”stick up there” VERY hard to do, she said theres no point in me using crems coz i onlt itch once a week!! so how do i cure it?

Not the prescription. I have used the cream that you insert but I hate it because it oozes in the morning.
Thrush? Discharge? Help!?
Hi, I really need help, I have been to the doctors about what I believe is to be thrush, because I had it once before when I was younger. Im 18 years old now and Im still not sure how Im supposed to clean myself. I think I destroyed my PH balance because I used to clean myself by inserting my fingers in the bath with soaps. (i dont have a shower) however now I have taken over the counter treatment which hasn’t worked, and i’ve also been cleaning with un-perfumed products specially made for cleaning that area. My issue now is still the same, I have stringy thick yellow/whitish discharge, which can occaisonally cause me a rash because the area isn’t dry, and odours are rare, but can occur after a long day. Help! I wash everyday! I went to the doctors and they are sure its thrush, but the treatment doesnt work??? what am I doing wrong?
